 Our Services:

CASC's Family Supportive Service offer direct assistance and community partnership that address health, development, and basic needs. We help struggling individuals and families build self-sufficiency through a range of programs, under following categories:

Family Health:
- Well Baby Clinic
Our Case Manager provides language interpreting services during the Well Baby Clinic and accompanies the Township and Borough Nurses when they request help during home visits with new mothers and their babies.

- HIV Case Management
CASC offers the only Spanish-speaking program available in the eastern corridor of Mercer County for families infected and affected by HIV. Assistance is provided through outreach, education, accompaniment, transportation, public awareness, and case management. We also provide counseling and testing for HIV.

- Drug & Alcohol Counseling
CASC provides assistance at weekly Alcoholics Anonymous meetings held on Saturday mornings at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Hightstown, as well as court-ordered DUI classes conducted in Spanish.

- Annual Health Fair
Each year, CASC hosts a range of approximately 50 health care providers as well as other health and wellness-related services. Free screenings for diabetes, blood pressure, etc. are offered to the public at no cost, and information and resources are made available to the community. Hundreds of underinsured and uninsured residents take this opportunity to increase their awareness of health issues.

Youth Development:
- Summer H.E.L.P. (Hightstown-East Windsor Learning Partners)
This five-week summer day camp program is designed to enrich our local youth and provide affordable, quality child care for working families. We partner with East Windsor Regional School District in providing a program that stimulates children’s natural interest in learning while nurturing their personal development.

Summer H.E.L.P. provides daily academic enrichment so that average and marginal students can develop their math, reading, science and language arts skills in the morning and strengthen their social skills in the afternoon. Daily recreation includes on-site swimming and crafts, and each week ends with an exciting educational field trip. A nutritious breakfast and lunch are provided daily. The program is fully licensed and insured, and the program participants and staff reflect the diversity of our community.

This program includes 75-100 local children from kindergarten through 6th grade. Fees are assessed on a sliding scale, so the program is affordable to all families in our community.

Family Basic Needs:
- Emergency Assistance
For families in crisis, we intervene to prevent homelessness by providing funding for short-term emergency shelter and utility payment assistance. We also link working poor families with resources (such as unemployment services and affordable child care) they need to improve their quality of life.

- Food Pantry
In partnership with Mercer Street Friends, we maintain a year-round pantry of non-perishable food to assist families in need. (Donations are greatly appreciated, especially following the holiday season.) Once eligibility is determined, families are entitled to visit the pantry on a monthly basis.

- Holiday "Adopt a Family" Program
In partnership with local civic associations such as the Junior League of Greater Princeton, each year we register hundreds of families for this program, in which food baskets are donated and holiday gifts are provided for children. In 2004, almost 600 local children received donated gifts through this program.

Community Partnerships :
Often we find that our clients need assistance beyond the direct services we provide. To this end, we offer office space to other local programs and service agencies to operate from our location in Hightstown. This allows us to provide our clients with complete assistance without duplicating existing services.

Our community partnerships currently include:

New Jersey Department of Labor - monthly drop-in sessions with DOL job placement counselor

New Jersey Department of Health & Senior Services - monthly drop-in sessions with DOSS counselor

Womanspace - monthly support group for individuals coping with domestic violence

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) - offered each spring with the assistance of local community volunteers
